Louisiana, All-You-Can-Eat Pasta

If you want to challenge yourself and see how much spaghetti you can eat in one go, head on down to Louisiana. Don't worry, you don't have to fly all the way to the States for this. We have our own Louisiana right here in Malaysia, in a little place called Plaza Kelana Jaya.

In the menu, there is a special section for the All-you-can-eat Pasta. You can select from a variety for the price of only RM14.90. However, there is a catch. This special promotion only runs from 11.30am to 3pm, just nice for lunch. You are allowed to order one plate at a time. Tasting and sharing are strictly forbidden.

The way

It might take you a while to find the restaurant. Just remember to walk right to the end of the lot and you'll see it at the corner. You can choose to sit outside the restaurant, right beside the Kelana Lake to enjoy the view and tiny breeze on a good day.

Chicken Smoked Sausage

Chicken Smoked Sausage is bathed with some very appetizing sauce, something good for those who plan to gobble down a couple more plates of pasta later. The chicken sausages tasted very good along with the sour sauce, some garlic and pepper. This was the first dish I tried and it really opened up my appetite for more food.

Mexican Aglio Olive

Mexican Aglio Olive is a traditional Italian pasta dish. But as the name suggests, this particular dish supposedly has a Mexican twist to it. Its portion is smaller compared to the rest. It is a simple pasta dish with olive oil, chili flakes, parsley, and roasted garlic to add fragrance. However, I don't find anything Mexican about it other than the few slices of fresh red chili as garnishes. Nevertheless, it was still my favourite.

Creamy Pesto White Fish

Having the Creamy Pesto White Fish after two plate of spaghetti was indeed a challenge. Pesto sauce is basically made with basil leaves and Parmesan cheese. The few slices of fried fish were pretty good. But other than that, I can barely taste anything else. The sauce was very bland and a little too thick for my liking. It ruined my appetite quite a bit. The small bottle of hot sauce didn't really help either despite showering practically the whole plate of spaghetti with it. I wouldn't recommend this dish for an all-you-can-eat session.

Beef Bolognaise

I didn't want to end my pasta fest with one I didn't like. So I decided to go for one last plate, Beef Bolognaise. Sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and accompanied with minced beef, sauce is just as appetizing the one in the Chicken Smoked Sausages spaghetti, but a sweeter and thicker.

The other dishes included which my tummy sadly couldn't accept anymore were Chicken Carbonara, Spaghetti with Stir Fried Vegetables, Chicken with Olive, and etc.

Salad

Besides the spaghetti dishes, this promotion also includes a mini salad buffet, Iced Lemon Tea, and a scoop of ice-cream. If you're lucky, you may get hot tea or coffee and Soup of the Day on the house.

Hot tea and Iced Lemon Tea

Ice-cream

But if you are still thirsty, I recommend you order another glass of Iced Lemon Tea and not request for a refill. You can taste the lemon better and it comes in a larger glass. Funny how they're both Iced Lemon Tea, but the taste is totally different.

Overall, the All-you-can-eat Pasta was a pretty decent meal, not to mention a record-breaking experience as well. Four plates of pasta in three hours was quite an achievement for myself. The trick is to order the ones with somewhat sour sauces before having the creamy ones. Ordering the Creamy Carbonara as your first dish is definitely not a good idea. You will probably be too bloated to go for anymore!

So, what are you waiting for? Challenge yourself and try to beat the restaurant's record! Apparently the record-holder ate a whopping six plates. And she is a girl! But if you're not really a pasta person, the restaurant is also famous for their Cajun style seafood and steak. Do give those dishes a shot as well.
